Help out Zabersoft and create your own Video Downloader Plugins

Ever wondered how we pull this Video Downloader magic off?
Well, it's actually rather simple. Technically speaking, this is what happens when you click on Grab Movies This Page Links To in the PimpFish toolbar (on one of our Certified Sites, obviously):

• 1) The PimpFish toolbar recognizes that a page is Certified by us.
• 2) PimpFish now takes the current URL of the page you are viewing and passes it along to the PimpFish downloader, telling it to use Plugins.
• 3) Now the downloader calls our server, passing along the URL of the page you were viewing
• 4) Our server does some magic with the appropriate Video Downloader plugin script and returns a direct download URL to the video file
• 5) The PimpFish downloader downloads the video to your local machine

All very simple. Now, the Video Downloader Plugin scripts are also, mostly, simple. All they get as input is the page URL the user wants to save a video from, and all they return is an array with some predefined values. For example (PHP code):

$results[] = array('source' => $url, 'url' => $video_url, 'name' => $videofilename);

Where $url is a string variable containing the full URL to the original source page
Where $video_url is a string variable containing the full URL (including http://) to the video file
Where $videofilename is a string variable containing a suggested local filename for the video (often extrapolated from the video title found in the page HTML)

If the script found no video on the page, the $result array is left empty

Please note: These are just example scripts and might not look like this today (as when the target pages change, so do our handlers) - Also, here you will see various methods of extrapolating the download URL. Remember, all you get as input is the $url variable - What you do from there to get the download URL is all up to you :)
